Next Step: As these are preliminary simulations, now that I was able to understand the technique used, I would like to go back and fit the parameters better to what I am looking for and cache at a higher resolution.

Personal Notes:

  • Fix the holes within the mesh

  • Waves are going too fast, follow the reference and compare the waves between the two

  • Refine boat animation to be used for collision source

HDRI Options

After retrieving this ship model, found in the link below, I had to do some minor cleanup in Houdini to insure clean sims. There is intersection geo where the rope meets one of the middle sails and it would interfere with the vellum sim.
